Visiting the Kamikamo Battle Site

It is said that in 1580, the Iga clan (Hisataka), the castle lord of Kokura, Tsudaka District, who belonged to the Ukita lineage, resisted the invasion of the Mohri Kobayakawa army (forces of Terumoto and Takakage) and overthrew the Mohri dynasty. Battle of Kokura. Mr. Katayama is active on the Iga side. Both are surnames that continue to this day.
In the 8th year of Tensho, Hideyoshi captured Miki Castle and forced Bessho Nagaharu to commit suicide. One year earlier, in the 7th year of Tensho, Oda Nobukatsu's army attacked Iga Province, but was unsuccessful, and one year later, in the 9th year of the Tensho era, Nobunaga himself sent his army and captured Iga Kashiwara Castle (Tensho Iga Rebellion). This is an event in Iga Province, although it has no direct relation to Iga clan of Kokura.
Nobunaga lost his life two years later (1582) in the Honnoji Incident. Anyway, it was an event at amazing times.
Hisataka Iga participated in the siege of Kozuki Castle in 1578, following the Ukita army of the Mohri side. Kozuki Castle falls and Amago is destroyed.
In 1579, he followed Ukita Naoie to the Oda side. From then on, he was on the front lines of the Oda side against the Mohri forces.
At the Battle of Kamigamo in 1580, the Mohri army, which had set out from its main camp at Bicchu Takenosho, was defeated by a troop of guns. Causes Mohri's Kamo collapse.
However, in April 1581, he died suddenly and mysteriously. (Naoie died of illness at the end of the same year.) Then, in 1582, the Hashiba army attacked Takamatsu Castle by water and the Honnoji Incident occurred.
It is said that Hisataka Iga's son Yosaburo Iehisa sensed Naoie's will after his father's death and joined the Mohri side.
When Hideyoshi visited Okayama prior to the Great Return, Naoie's successor, Hideie, who was still a teenager, saw him off at Numa castle. There is also a story that Yosaburo attacked this.

Bizen was given to the Matsuda clan as a territory due to their success in the Jokyu War, and Moritomo Matsuda built the first castle. The Matsuda clan then moved to Toyama Castle (Kita Ward, Okayama City), but during the Onin War, they moved their base again to Kanagawa.
It was said to be an unassailable castle and never fell, but it was captured by Ukita due to secret information and finally fell to ruin.
After the Battle of Sekigahara, Ukita was defeated. Bizen belonged to the Kobayakawa family, but Hideaki Kobayakawa abandoned Kanagawa as a castle.
During the Edo period, the Hiki clan, a chief retainer of Ikeda, set up a camp in Kanagawa, but the castle was abandoned.
